Overview
This demonstration project shows a portfolio site for an independent professional — here a fictional product designer. The goal of a personal site is simple: make the right people understand what you do within seconds, then give them enough depth to trust you and a clear way to get in touch.
Case studies are written as stories — problem, approach, result — with galleries and a side panel for role, timeline and tools. New work is added from a small content studio, so the site grows with the career instead of going stale.
The challenge
Portfolio platforms and generic templates make every professional look the same: a grid of thumbnails without context, slow image-heavy pages and no control over how the site appears in search. Recruiters and clients skim, so work without an explanation rarely convinces, and updating the site becomes a chore that never happens.
The solution
The concept puts the story first. The homepage states who you are and what you are available for, selected work leads to full case studies, and each case study has its own URL, title and description for search and sharing. Content lives in structured files and a simple editor, images are optimised automatically, and the contact form arrives in your inbox with spam filtered out.
Key features
- Introduction with availability status and social links
- Case study pages with problem, approach, result and gallery
- Writing section for articles and notes
- Contact form with spam protection and email delivery
- Downloadable CV and structured data for the person
- Dark and light themes with accessible contrast
- Content studio for case studies and articles
- Optional second language, including Arabic RTL
Who it is for
- Designers, developers and consultants working independently
- Professionals preparing for a job search or career move
- Creators who want their own site instead of a platform profile
- Coaches and specialists who get clients through referrals and search
Technical approach
Next.js generates every page statically, so the site is fast on any connection and cheap to host. Case studies and articles are MDX documents with typed front matter, which lets rich layouts — galleries, quotes, before/after — sit inside normal writing. next-intl adds a second language when needed, and images are served in modern formats at the right size.

Questions about this type of project
Whose portfolio is this?
Nobody's — the person, projects and texts are fictional, and each screen is marked as a demo. It shows how Saad builds personal portfolio websites.
Can I update my portfolio without technical knowledge?
Yes. New case studies and articles are added from a simple editor. Layout changes or new sections are development work, but everyday content is yours to manage.
Will a personal website help me appear in Google?
A fast site with clear titles, descriptions and structured data gives search engines what they need, especially for searches on your name and specialty. Ranking also depends on your content and links, so no position can be guaranteed.
